Examining fossils at the megafauna funshop at Mammoth Cave Margaret River, WA.

Megafauna Funshops

Get up close with Australia’s MEGA animals, including marsupial lions and giant wombats. Dig for fossils, and enjoy a tour of Mammoth Cave where megafauna fossils were uncovered.

The Megafauna Funshop commences at Lake Cave theatrette, with an interactive presentation where kids can even participate in a fossil dig! Learn all about the megafauna, which lived throughout the South West region and across Australia up until 46,000 years ago.

You must then drive (5 minutes) to Mammoth Cave, where your Funshop concludes with a fully guided tour of this stunning cave system. This is the site where several species of megafauna were first discovered, and you’ll even see a jaw bone and teeth still lodged in the wall of the cave.

Learn about the formation of Mammoth Cave and marvel at the myriad of speleothems which decorate the walls and ceiling of its caverns.
